Job Summary

As part of our commitment to operational excellence and equipment reliability, we are seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical Technician to join our Engineering and Maintenance Department.

The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing mechanical equipment and production machinery within our poultry and processing facilities. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical skills, hands-on experience, and a commitment to ensuring minimal downtime and optimal plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance and repair of production machinery, conveyors, pumps, and motors
• Diagnose mechanical faults and implement timely corrective actions
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce equipment breakdowns
• Support the installation, testing, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report all work carried out
• Collaborate with the Electrical and Production teams to resolve operational issues
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintenance procedures
• Recommend mechanical improvements to enhance machine efficiency and reliability
• Maintain cleanliness and proper handling of tools, parts, and workshop equipment

Qualifications and Requirements

• Trade Test Certificate, OND, or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
• Minimum of 3 years' practical experience as a Mechanical Technician in an FMCG, manufacturing, or agro-processing environment
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced production environment and on shifts when required
