We are seeking an experienced professional for this opening.
Position Overview:
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, installing, testing, and maintaining mechanical systems and equipment that support manufacturing operations.
- This role requires hands-on experience with industrial systems, strong analytical thinking, and a commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards in line with industry best practices.
- Preferred candidates will be resident in Apapa or its environs.
- Design, analyse, and oversee mechanical systems and installations for the facility.
- Supervise the fabrication, installation, and maintenance of mechanical systems, etc.
- Conduct performance tests, troubleshooting, and root cause analyses of mechanical failures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (electrical, instrumentation) to ensure seamless project execution.
- Monitor contractors’ work to ensure compliance with design, quality, and safety standards.
- Provide technical input in tender processes, feasibility studies, and cost estimation.
- Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) procedures and regulatory standards.
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, and progress reporting.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Excellent understanding of mechanical systems.
- Strong ability to diagnose, analyze, and solve engineering challenges efficiently.
- Capable of leading site teams and collaborating effectively across departments.
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Precision in design, documentation, and execution of projects.
- Ability to identify and implement innovative engineering solutions.
- Works effectively under pressure and adapts to fast-paced manufacturing environments.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and commitment to corporate goals.
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.Eng / B.Sc) in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in mechanical engineering within the manufacturing industry.
- COREN and NSE membership (Optional).
- Proficiency in engineering design and analysis software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ANSYS, PDMS, etc.).
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards (API, ASME, ASTM, ISO, and NACE).
