About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join our team as a Mathematics Teacher at the secondary level, teaching JSS and SSS students.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

• Plan and deliver clear, engaging Mathematics lessons for JSS and SSS students
• Teach core and advanced topics: Numbers, Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, Trigonometry, and Calculus
• Employ diverse instructional methods—projects, inquiry-based learning, and technology integration
• Use formative and summative assessments to track student progress
• Guide students in mathematics competitions, STEM projects, and Olympiads
• Relate mathematical concepts to daily life and Qur'anic insights where appropriate

Assessment & Record Keeping

• Prepare lesson notes, schemes of work, and continuous assessment records
• Evaluate students objectively and provide feedback for improvement
• Maintain proper records of scores, attendance, and behavioral progress

Student Development

• Encourage problem-solving, analytical thinking, and teamwork
• Mentor students academically and morally, promoting Islamic virtues such as honesty, discipline, and perseverance
• Support learners in building confidence and resilience in Mathematics

Professional & Administrative Duties

• Participate actively in departmental meetings, school events, and staff training
• Collaborate with colleagues across subjects for interdisciplinary learning
• Ensure a safe, organized, and motivating classroom environment
• Uphold the school's mission of nurturing morally upright and intellectually capable students

Qualifications & Experience

• B.Ed. or B.Sc. in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or related discipline
• PGDE or TRCN certification preferred
• Minimum of 3 years' experience teaching Mathematics in a secondary school
• Excellent command of Mathematics and strong pedagogical skills
• Proficient in ICT-based teaching tools (e.g., GeoGebra, Khan Academy, Smart Board)
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
• Alignment with the school's Islamic values and mission
