Marine Operations Manager at Alkanes-Diaplous Limited

About the Role

Alkanes-Diaplous Limited seeks a dedicated Marine Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of vessel operations in the Nigerian maritime environment. This role is based in Lagos, Nigeria.

Vessel Operations

• Ensure efficient vessel operations by determining optimal speed for each voyage to maximize fuel consumption efficiency
• Monitor vessel operations remotely to verify compliance with company standard operating procedures and Nigerian Navy regulations
• Prepare operational reports for completed tasks to support commercial invoicing processes
• Oversee vessel bunkering (fueling) procedures in accordance with approved standard operating procedures
• Manage all processes related to vessel crew changes, Nigerian Navy crew changes, and Nigerian Navy personnel embarkations

Class Society and Flag State Compliance

• Ensure vessels meet all Flag State requirements and documentation standards
• Monitor and renew all flag regulatory licenses (NIMASA) on schedule to prevent sanctions
• Ensure vessels meet all classification society (Bureau Veritas) requirements and documentation on time to avoid sanctions
• Manage relationships with Bureau Veritas and NIMASA to proactively address any compliance issues
• Lead the operations team during audits and surveys

People Management

• Collaborate with Human Resources on management of office operations personnel and vessel crewmembers
• Work with Human Resources on recruitment and training of office personnel and vessel crewmembers
• Ensure all personnel operating company vessels meet NIMASA regulatory requirements and qualifications

Advisory and Reporting

• Provide management with periodic reports, analysis, and budgetary recommendations on marine operations
• Provide strategic advice to management on opportunities for improvements within marine operations
