Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Marine Electrical/Electronics Engineer to support the operation, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic systems on marine vessels and offshore equipment.
The ideal candidate must have strong technical expertise in marine electrical systems, automation, navigation equipment, and instrumentation within the marine industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair marine electrical and electronic systems on vessels, barges, and offshore platforms
- Troubleshoot electrical faults, instrumentation issues, and control system failures
- Conduct regular inspections, diagnostics, and testing of electrical equipment to ensure operational reliability
- Maintain and repair navigation and communication systems (e.g., radar, GPS, AIS, echo sounders, VHF radio, autopilot)
- Ensure proper functioning of power distribution systems, switchboards, generators, transformers, and battery systems
- Implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for all electrical/electronic equipment
- Prepare technical reports, maintenance logs, and documentation for audits and compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, marine standards, and classification society requirements
- Assist with electrical system upgrades, installations, commissioning, and equipment integration
- Collaborate with marine engineers, technicians, and operations teams on vessel readiness and performance
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related field
- 3–7 years relevant experience in the marine or offshore industry
- Strong technical knowledge of marine electrical systems, automation, and instrumentation
- Hands-on experience with navigation and communication equipment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
