Maintenence Officer (HVAC) at Quality Foods Africa

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Officer (HVAC) to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across our facility. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, repairs, and servicing of HVAC systems (chillers, split units, air handlers, exhaust fans, etc.)
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in HVAC systems and propose solutions
• Ensure timely resolution of HVAC-related requests, complaints, and work orders
• Maintain records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and inventory of spare parts
• Monitor and optimize system performance to reduce downtime and energy consumption
• Work closely with vendors and contractors to support installation or major repairs
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards
• Report equipment status and maintenance activities to the Facilities/Engineering Manager

Requirements

• OND/HND/B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
• Minimum of 3–5 years' hands-on experience in HVAC operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Certification in HVAC technology or related training (preferred)
• Ability to read and interpret HVAC diagrams, manuals, and wiring schematics
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Good communication and reporting skills
• Willingness to work on weekends or after hours when required
