Maintenance Planner / Scheduler I at Scruples Resources

About the Role

A reputable organization seeks a dedicated individual to serve as a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler. This role is responsible for planning and scheduling all maintenance activities while demonstrating strong understanding of safety, health, and environmental (SHE) requirements, work selection criteria, work planning, estimating, procurement practices, and contractor interface management.

Main Functions

You will develop comprehensive job packs and coordinate efficiently between operations (equipment readiness and permitting), material availability, construction equipment support, and labor crew composition. You will demonstrate expertise in scheduling work tasks to ensure optimal resource utilization and maintain excellent coordination across all departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety in all planning and scheduling activities
• Participate in planning sessions with core and work teams
• Plan and schedule routine maintenance work as required
• Collaborate with planners in developing schedules, cost estimates, and equipment planning for routine work during turnaround windows
• Plan complex jobs and develop resource plans with schedulers, execution leads, and operations teams across all disciplines
• Identify and monitor critical and sub-critical paths for major events
• Apply advanced functions of planning and estimating tools relevant to the position
• Educate field execution personnel on look-ahead schedules and ensure timely work progression
• Provide input on maintenance work contracting and procurement strategy
• Resolve scheduling issues including negative float, out-of-sequence updates, resource overloads, and scope changes
• Develop complete job plans including materials, resources, and timelines
• Provide input on material selection and management
• Track and validate progress against established plans
