Logistics Assistant - Damboa at Medecins Du Monde

About the Role

We invite applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Logistics Assistant. Working under the supervision of the Logistics Officer and in technical coordination with the Logistics Manager, you will manage the upkeep and repair of Médecins du Monde facilities while supporting fleet and stock management operations.

Main Responsibilities

Facilities Maintenance

• Maintain the order and upkeep of MDM premises through various maintenance tasks
• Service equipment and maintain the outdoor environment
• Determine repair needs and respond to maintenance requests (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, furniture, etc.)

Fleet Management

• Maintain MDM ambulances and oversee maintenance of rented vehicles with vendors
• Supervise driver activities related to vehicle log books and provide guidance on corrections as needed
• Complete monthly vehicle follow-up documentation
• Organize vehicle movements according to the Movement Plan and communicate schedules to drivers

Stock Management

• Check, record, and store received goods under logistics supervision
• Conduct regular physical inventory counts and monitor stock levels
• Verify package numbers, packaging condition, and contents upon receipt; report missing or damaged items to the Supply Team
• Update stock cards immediately upon receipt with reference document numbers
• Store goods according to Logistics Officer instructions
• Ensure availability of frequently used items in the store
• Maintain proper organization, storage, protection, and identification of all items
