## Title: Local Government Area Coordinator – Nutrition and Child Health

About the Role

The Local Government Area (LGA) Coordinator will represent Nutrition International and support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of nutrition and child health interventions across 2-3 assigned LGAs. You will be based in a Primary Healthcare office within one of your assigned LGAs and will work in close collaboration with state-level coordinators, government staff, community stakeholders, and partners to ensure effective service delivery during Maternal and Newborn Child Health Weeks (MNCHWs).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to ensure sustained program coverage through adequate and equitable provision of quality services across all targeted areas
  • Provide hands-on guidance and technical support to LGA-level structures and teams through supportive supervision and mentorship for effective planning and implementation of MNCHW activities, including commodities supply
  • Participate in regular coordination meetings, providing LGA-specific updates and flagging potential risks to Nutrition International programming when necessary
  • Ensure visibility of Nutrition International activities at community and LGA levels by participating in LGA Nutrition Partners' meetings, LGA Committee on Food and Nutrition meetings, Technical Working Groups, and other relevant health and nutrition forums

MNCHW Campaign Planning

  • Support LGA teams in developing detailed workplans and activity timelines for MNCHW campaigns
  • Coordinate with LGA government counterparts, partners, and stakeholders to align roles, resources, and messaging
  • Facilitate logistics planning, including procurement of materials, training of frontline workers, and community mobilization strategies
  • Support Ward Development Committee (WDC) quarterly meetings for sustainable demand creation processes
  • Monitor community mobilization activities, including town announcers and radio jingles
