About the Role
Eko Maintenance Limited is seeking a Legal HR Officer to join our team in Lagos. This role combines legal expertise with human resources management, ensuring the company operates in full compliance with all statutory obligations while supporting sound HR practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, vet, and review contracts and provide legal advice accordingly
- Evaluate information to determine compliance with legal standards
- Offer legal advice and support on issues affecting the company
- Ensure compliance with all necessary statutory obligations
- Supervise and manage employee issues and grievances
- Draft official letters and maintain proper file documentation
- Handle company secretarial matters and administrative compliance
- Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions
- Ensure policies, procedures, and reporting align with compliance standards
- Study legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends
- Perform other related tasks as required
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in human resources and legal compliance
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian labour laws and regulations
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
- Thoroughness in legal document review and compliance matters
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR management software
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Law or Human Resources
- Professional HR certification (CIPM, SHRM, or equivalent)
