Pathway 1: Ph.D. Holders

• Ph.D. or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Agriculture, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, or Fellowship in Medicine (registered with MDCN or Veterinary Council of Nigeria)
• Minimum three (3) years as Lecturer II/Librarian II
• Admissible publications totaling not less than twenty-five (25) points
• Minimum forty-five (45) points in Job Appraisal
• Minimum five (5) publications

Pathway 2: Master's Degree Holders

• Master's Degree in relevant field
• Minimum three (3) years as Lecturer II/Librarian II
• Admissible publications totaling not less than thirty (30) points
• Minimum five (5) citations
• Minimum forty-five (45) points in Job Appraisal
• Minimum six (6) publications

Additional Requirements

• Current membership of relevant professional body/bodies
• Minimum two (2) points in Academic Leadership/Administrative Responsibility
• Visible profile on Google Scholar or ResearchGate with minimum five (5) citations
• First-time university appointees enter at not more than the rank of Lecturer I
