Land Surveyor - Ascentech Services Limited, Lagos

Role Overview The Land Surveyor will be responsible for accurate measurement and determination of land boundaries and for providing relevant data related to the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land features. This role supports engineering, construction, land evaluation, and mapmaking activities and requires hands-on experience with surveying instruments, GPS, and GIS systems. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed.

• Conduct physical site and ground surveys using various equipment and tools to establish baselines, elevations, and other geodetic measurements.

• Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.

• Direct or conduct surveys to establish legal property boundaries based on legal deeds and titles.

• Record survey results, including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features.

• Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other terrain characteristics.

• Coordinate findings with engineering and architectural teams, project managers, clients, and other stakeholders.

• Determine longitudes and latitudes of important features and boundaries using theodolites, transits, levels, and satellite-based GPS systems.

• Conduct research in surveying and mapping methods, including photogrammetric map compilation and electronic data processing.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.

Required Competencies

• Tech-savvy, with familiarity in CAD software

• Working knowledge of GPS, GIS, and Total Station equipment

• Strong aptitude in mathematics and problem-solving

Education: & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying or a related field

• 2–5 years of previous experience as a Land Surveyor or in a similar rol
