Job Summary

The Laboratory Scientist is responsible for conducting various laboratory tests, experiments, and analyses to provide accurate and reliable data in support of scientific research, testing, and development. The role involves ensuring that all tests meet quality standards, adhering to safety protocols, maintaining laboratory equipment, and providing clear documentation of results.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and complex laboratory tests, experiments, and analyses according to established protocols
• Interpret test results and compare them with expected outcomes to ensure accuracy
• Record, analyze, and present findings in a clear, organized manner
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Monitor inventory of supplies and equipment, ordering necessary materials as required
• Ensure all procedures comply with industry standards, guidelines, and regulations (e.g., Good Laboratory Practices—GLP)
• Participate in internal audits and external inspections when required
• Prepare and maintain detailed records of laboratory experiments, tests, and analyses
• Communicate findings effectively with supervisors and other stakeholders
• Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure safe disposal of hazardous materials
• Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience

Required Competencies

• Expertise in performing laboratory tests, analyzing data, and using laboratory equipment
• Knowledge of laboratory techniques and methodologies
• Precision in carrying out tests and documenting results
• Ability to identify discrepancies or errors in test results and correct them
