Junior Accountant - Maurice Xandra Solutions, Lagos

Location: Ebute-Metta, Lagos Our client is a Restaurant located in Lagos, Nigeria, and is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage and oversee its financial operations. Position Overview: The Accountant will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations of a fast-paced, multi-branch restaurant business. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience handling restaurant accounts, tracking daily sales, managing expenses, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate financial reporting across branches. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily financial transactions across multiple restaurant outlets

• Record and reconcile daily sales, expenses, and inventory-related transactions

• Handle accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments and customer invoices

• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and performance reports

• Reconcile bank accounts, POS reports, and credit card transactions

• Monitor cash flow, petty cash, and branch-level financial activities

• Ensure accurate ledger maintenance and timely posting of journal entries

• Assist with tax filings, statutory deductions, and regulatory compliance

• Support internal and external audits and year-end financial processes

• Collaborate with operations and branch managers to resolve discrepancies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Minimum of 2 years’ accounting experience, preferably in a Quick Service Restaurant or hospitality business with multiple branches

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

• Practical experience using accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple outlets simultaneously

• Knowledge of hospitality or restaurant accounting practices is a strong advantage

• Strong integrity and ability to handle confidential financial information
