Job Summary
Wells Carlton Hotel & Apartments seeks a dedicated IT Support Officer to provide technical assistance to employees, resolve hardware and software issues, and maintain the company's IT infrastructure. In this role, you will install and configure systems, troubleshoot problems, manage support tickets, and perform routine maintenance on computers and networks. Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to users via phone, email, or in-person to resolve computer and software issues
- Diagnose and solve hardware and software faults to keep systems running smoothly
- Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware, operating systems, and applications for new and existing users
- Log and manage all service requests and support tickets, updating users on their progress
- Perform routine maintenance on computer systems and networks, including updates, backups, and security checks
- Maintain an accurate inventory of IT hardware and software assets
- Set up new employees with the necessary accounts and equipment
- Create and maintain documentation for IT procedures, configurations, and solutions
- Test and evaluate new hardware and software to recommend improvements
Qualifications and Skills
Education
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
Experience
Proven experience in IT support or a similar role is required.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux)
- Knowledge of network protocols and configurations
- Familiarity with IT security principles
