Role Overview

An established company is seeking an IT Specialist to install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and network infrastructures. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal performance, connectivity, and security across all IT systems while providing technical support to staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and network infrastructures and IT systems to ensure optimal performance, connectivity, and security
• Troubleshoot IT issues, resolve system outages, and provide technical support to staff
• Monitor system performance and ensure optimal uptime for all IT resources
• Manage IT security protocols to protect systems from potential threats and vulnerabilities
• Assist with data backups, disaster recovery planning, and implementation
• Manage inventory for IT equipment and recommend necessary upgrades or replacements
• Perform regular backups, system updates, and monitor system performance for potential problems
• Monitor network performance and resolve any connectivity or network issues that arise
• Collaborate with other teams to integrate new technologies and systems into the existing infrastructure
• Document IT procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps to create a knowledge base for the team

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• 2–3 years of experience as a network technician, IT specialist, or in a network installation and maintenance role

Required Skills and Experience

• Knowledge of enterprise networking, including VLANs, quality of service (QoS), and wireless networking (802.11 standards)
• Proficiency in configuring and maintaining routers, switches, and other network equipment
• Hands-on experience with network hardware and tools such as cabling, testing equipment, and network monitoring software
• Experience in network monitoring, performance optimization, LAN setup, and WAN configuration
• Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS) and network troubleshooting tools
