## Title: Inventory Controller

Job Summary

Hartleys, one of the leading retail supermarket stores in Lagos, Nigeria, is hiring an Inventory Controller. In this role, you will be the backbone of our stock management, monitoring expiries, reducing waste, and ensuring our shelves are always well-stocked.

You will help drive efficiency and accuracy across departments. If you are detail-oriented, proactive, and ready to make an impact, we would love to have you on board.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track product expiry dates, implement proactive measures to reduce losses, and coordinate timely clearance of near-expiry items
  • Oversee and reconcile supplier return agreements (Sale or Return), ensuring accurate documentation and timely returns
  • Monitor fresh produce, dairy, and other perishables; implement wastage reduction initiatives; and maintain reports for management
  • Manage butchery formulas, recipes, and yield tracking to ensure consistency, correct pricing, and minimal shrinkage
  • Control bakery raw materials and recipes, ensuring accurate usage and reducing ingredient wastage
  • Continuously monitor stock levels across departments, initiate replenishment where needed, and ensure shelves are optimally stocked
  • Investigate and follow up on stock discrepancies, system errors, and supplier-related issues
  • Provide regular reports to management on stock status, wastages, expiries, and corrective actions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Economics, Finance, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field
  • 0–2 years of experience in finance or retail
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Basic understanding of financial concepts such as revenue, margins, expenses, and budgeting
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
