Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Inventory and Buying Officer to join our supermarket operations. In this role, you will handle procurement activities, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure the supermarket maintains optimal stock levels while upholding product quality standards.
Department & Reporting
Department: Admin / Supply
Reports To: Store Manager / Director
Key Responsibilities
- Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure quality products at competitive prices
- Prepare and process purchase orders accurately and efficiently
- Track stock levels and manage reorder timelines to prevent stockouts
- Maintain supplier records and purchase databases for easy reference and analysis
- Collaborate with finance and operations teams on restocking plans and inventory optimization
Requirements
- B.Sc or ND in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in procurement or inventory management
- Excellent negotiation and record-keeping skills
- Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented approach to work
