Internal Audit Officer

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join Animal Care Services Consult as an Internal Audit Officer in Lagos, Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, prepare, and organize both physical and digital documents required for audit activities
• Identify critical areas, issues, and inconsistencies that warrant deeper investigation and analysis
• Evaluate core business processes, competencies, and company valuations
• Verify the accuracy of documents, financial figures, and account information as part of audit procedures
• Conduct internal audits on financial records and operational processes
• Investigate discrepancies or irregularities identified during audit reviews
• Compile audit findings and present them in written reports and verbal briefings to the Head of Internal Audit
• Provide recommendations and guidance on corrective actions and improvements to be implemented by the organization
• Recommend enhanced methods and controls to strengthen financial reporting and improve operational efficiency
• Support the design and implementation of audit programs addressing key risks and regulatory requirements
• Evaluate the adequacy of internal controls and propose improvements to strengthen audit and control functions
• Assist in developing and delivering audit and control policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and industry best practices
• Identify opportunities for more efficient operational processes
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly audit reports as required
• Contribute to safeguarding the company's assets and resources

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Banking & Finance, or any relevant field
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• Age: 30–40 years

Preferred Qualifications

• MSc/MBA
• ACA, ACCA, or CIA certification
• Related experience in Livestock or Manufacturing Company
