## Title: Instrumentation and Controls Lead III

About the Role

A reputable organization seeks a dedicated individual to lead instrumentation and controls activities across project phases. You will define the scope of pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, manage workloads, and implement standards and procedures. You will support the development and execution of centralized engineering services for existing upstream production operating units and new upstream capital projects to maintain safety, availability, and reliability of instrument and control systems while optimizing costs.

Main Responsibilities

  • Define scope of all pre-commissioning and commissioning activities and assign workloads
  • Review and implement standards and procedures including man hour estimating, cost estimating, budgeting, and progress reporting for instrumentation scope
  • Liaise with customers, vendors, engineers, and other disciplines as required
  • Participate in HAZOP/LOPA reviews and other technical, constructability, and quality reviews
  • Design, review, and approve instrumentation-related engineering deliverables, including instrument indexes, installation details, location drawings, datasheets, wiring drawings, loop drawings, P&IDs, material requisitions, evaluation of alternatives, and instrument selection
  • Perform calculations for control valves, flow elements, and pressure safety valves
  • Manage document control logs, bills of materials, and instrument change approvals
  • Support project Acceptance Testing (AT), including reviewing procedures, assigning resources, periodically attending AT, and adjusting commissioning scope to integrate AT successes and address deficiencies
  • Develop, track, and adjust commissioning execution schedules

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a closely related position and/or supervisory experience in a related field
  • Master's degree or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering specialty, or equivalent professional experience
  • Extensive knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria
  • Ability to review, evaluate, and update cause and effect diagrams, P&IDs, logic and architecture diagrams
