Hygiene Promoters at Young Prodigy Humanitarian Organization

Position Summary

The Hygiene Promoter supports the implementation of WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) activities by promoting safe hygiene practices, raising community awareness, and encouraging behavior change to prevent disease.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct community hygiene education and awareness sessions on safe water handling, sanitation, and disease prevention
• Mobilize and engage communities to participate in hygiene promotion and maintenance of WASH facilities
• Support the distribution and correct use of hygiene kits and materials
• Monitor and report on hygiene conditions, behaviors, and functionality of WASH facilities
• Promote inclusive and gender-sensitive hygiene practices, including menstrual hygiene management
• Collect feedback and complaints from community members and share them with the WASH/MEAL teams

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum secondary school certificate, diploma, or degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Community Development, or related field
• At least 1-2 years of experience in hygiene promotion, community mobilization, or WASH programs
• Basic knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, and public health principles
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
