## Title: HSE Officer
About the Role
A dynamic team is expanding and looking for the right talent to join as an HSE Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site inspections and maintain registers for daily unsafe acts and unsafe conditions observations and reports
- Deliver HSE induction training for new employees and visitors, and conduct HSE presentations to individuals or groups of employees and managers
- Plan safe working practices and implement necessary changes
- Organize workplace inspections and track closeout of observed gaps
- Maintain the Permit to Work (PTW) register and other HSE logs; conduct PTW audits
- Stay current with health and safety legislation at local and international levels as applicable
- Participate in incident and accident investigations; prepare reports and recommendations to prevent recurrence
- Participate in and undertake risk assessments and job hazard analysis exercises; ensure control measures are implemented
- Identify potential hazards and determine methods for reducing risks
- Engage with relevant regulatory authorities and contractors on HSE matters
- Supervise contracted and in-house jobs for safety compliance
- Organize, attend, and document minutes for health and safety meetings
- Coordinate toolbox talks and other safety meetings and training programs
- Lead enforcement of HSE procedures, policies, and standards across the plant and all work sites
- Compile HSE statistics and prepare weekly and monthly reports
- Keep abreast of developments within the health and safety profession
- Act as focal person for PPE management and track issued PPE
- Raise requisitions for HSE materials and services and make reservations for material issuance through SAP
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the immediate supervisor
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
