About the Role
Well Fluid Services Limited is expanding its dynamic team and seeking a dedicated HSE Officer to join our Lagos operations. This role is central to maintaining our health, safety, and environmental standards across all work sites and facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site inspections and maintain registers for unsafe acts and unsafe conditions observations and daily reports
- Deliver HSE induction programs for new employees and visitors, and present HSE information to employees and management
- Plan and implement safe working practices, making necessary adjustments as needed
- Organize workplace inspections and track closeout of identified gaps
- Maintain Permit to Work (PTW) registers and other HSE logs, and conduct PTW audits
- Stay current with local and international health and safety legislation
- Participate in incident and accident investigations, and make recommendations to prevent recurrence
- Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analysis exercises, ensuring control measures are properly implemented
- Identify potential hazards and develop strategies to reduce associated risks
- Engage with regulatory authorities and contractors on HSE matters
- Supervise contracted and in-house jobs to ensure safety compliance
- Organize, attend, and record minutes from health and safety meetings
- Coordinate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training programs
- Enforce HSE procedures, policies, and standards across the plant and all work sites
- Compile HSE statistics and reports on a weekly and monthly basis
- Manage PPE inventory and distribution, and track issued equipment
- Raise requisitions for HSE materials and services through SAP
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
