Role Overview
The HR Officer will support the effective delivery of HR services across the organization. This role involves handling day-to-day HR operations including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, payroll support, and compliance with labor regulations. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and people-oriented with strong knowledge of HR practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the recruitment, selection, and onboarding process of employees
- Maintain employee records (attendance, leave, contracts, etc.) in line with company policies
- Support HR initiatives such as training, performance reviews, and employee engagement activities
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, health & safety regulations, and internal policies
- Handle employee queries and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures
- Support disciplinary and grievance management processes
- Prepare HR reports and contribute to HR planning activities
- Assist with payroll preparation by providing accurate data on attendance, leaves, and overtime
- Promote a positive organizational culture and foster teamwork across departments
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field
- 2–4 years of HR experience (preferably in logistics, cargo operations, or a related industry)
- Sound knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and HR best practices
- Proficiency in MS Office and HR software tools
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- HR certification (CIPM, SHRM, CIPD or equivalent)
