Purpose of Role

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the housekeeping department and ensuring the cleanliness, orderliness, and professional appearance of the entire facility. This role includes managing daily operations, coordinating staff schedules, and maintaining high standards of guest satisfaction. The post-holder will work closely with other departments to ensure seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences.

Job Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the work activities of cleaning personnel to maintain clean, orderly, and attractive function rooms, offices, and clubhouse environments. The post-holder is responsible for assigning duties, inspecting work, and investigating complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment to ensure corrective and appropriate actions are taken. This position requires the ability to demonstrate effective and cooperative teamwork with all colleagues at all levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign janitorial staff their duties and inspect work to ensure compliance with prescribed standards of cleanliness
• Investigate complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and take appropriate corrective actions
• Coordinate work activities across the department
• Coordinate all laundry-related activities
• Inspect dry-cleaning and press work to ensure optimum quality; ensure prompt pick-up and on-time delivery of laundered items
• Conduct orientation and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and demonstrate proper use and maintenance of equipment
• Maintain stock inventories to ensure adequate supplies of cleaning materials and equipment
• Make recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operations
• Examine the building to determine the need for repairs or replacement of furniture and equipment; make recommendations to the line manager
• Issue supplies and cleaning equipment to janitorial staff
• Guide and direct the team to ensure consistent service excellence
