Position Overview
This vacancy presents an opportunity to join a leading hospitality organization. As a Public Area Attendant, you will be responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming conditions in all public spaces throughout the hotel, including lobbies, corridors, stairways, elevators, restrooms, and event spaces.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of all public areas including lobbies, corridors, stairways, and elevators
- Vacuum carpets, dust furniture, empty wastebaskets, and clean ashtrays in all public areas
- Clean and polish all brass fixtures in public areas
- Wash windows, walls, and ceilings using appropriate cleaning equipment and techniques
- Set up meeting rooms and banquet halls for events, including arranging tables, chairs, and place settings
- Break down meeting rooms and banquet halls after events, returning furniture to its original configuration
- Stock supplies in public restrooms, such as toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and shampoo
- Monitor public areas for litter and debris, removing it promptly
- Clean and maintain restrooms to the highest standards
- Collect lost items from public areas and store them safely until claimed by owners
- Report maintenance issues such as broken lights or plumbing problems to a supervisor
- Assist guests with directions and other requests, providing excellent customer service at all times
- Adhere to all safety and security procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key Requirements
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, mops, and squeegees
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
- Physical capability to perform repetitive tasks and lift moderately heavy items
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Reliability and ability to work independently
- Knowledge of safety and security procedures
