Housekeeper (Cleaner) at Eye Foundation Hospital

About the Role

Eye Foundation Hospital is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to join our expanding team. As a Housekeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic healthcare environment for our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to cleaning emergencies and urgent sanitation needs throughout the facility
• Clean and maintain windows, floors, and other surfaces to hospital standards
• Properly dispose of waste in wastebaskets and maintain cleanliness of disposal containers
• Safely and appropriately dispose of medical waste including syringes, gloves, face masks, and medication packaging according to hospital protocols
• Dust furniture and medical equipment regularly
• Collect soiled linens and clothes for appropriate washing and processing
• Iron and distribute clean linens to patients
• Clean and disinfect areas contaminated with blood or other body fluids
• Operate various cleaning equipment including vacuum cleaners, washing machines, and other sanitizing tools
• Document medical waste disposal procedures and ensure compliance with hospital standards and best practices

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent certificate
• Excellent organizational and hygiene practices
• Mathematical skills to accurately mix cleaning agents according to manufacturer specifications
• Knowledge of equipment sterilization procedures
• Ability to follow instructions carefully and consistently
• Proficiency in English language
• Ability to work in environments with dust and cleaning chemicals
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Proven leadership ability and willingness to take initiative
• Positive, professional disposition at all times
• Openness to learning new skills and safety procedures on the job
