## Title: Hotel Accountant

About the Role

This position offers a great opportunity for career growth within our finance department. You will be responsible for managing the financial operations of Garden Top Hotel, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic cost control across all departments.

Financial Reporting and Control

  • Handle petty cash and retire it properly
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records
  • Generate monthly financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, etc.)
  • Implement control procedures to safeguard financial integrity

Daily Transactions Management

  • Process invoices, track payments, and manage daily financial transactions from the front office, F&B, and laundry departments
  • Monitor hotel revenue and expenses
  • Ensure accurate calculations and compliance with tax regulations
  • Handle employee benefits and deductions

Budgeting and Cost Control

  • Collaborate with department heads to create and monitor budgets
  • Implement cost-saving measures and track spending

Internal Audits and Compliance

  • Conduct internal audits across all departments (Store, Kitchen, Restaurant, Bar, Housekeeping, Laundry, and Maintenance) to identify discrepancies
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies
  • Address any issues promptly

External Audits

  • Coordinate with external auditors during audits
  • Provide necessary financial records and explanations

Inventory Oversight

  • Monitor inventory levels across all departments (Store, Kitchen, Restaurant, Bar, Housekeeping, Laundry, and Maintenance)
  • Review procurement practices
  • Minimize waste and optimize inventory management

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3–5 years of experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting
  • Professional certification (ICAN, ACA, ACCA, etc.) is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and filing procedures
  • Proficiency in accounting tools (e.g., Excel, QuickBooks, Sage, Busy, Ezee, Opera PMS, Hotelman)
