Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer at Coleman Wires and Cables

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HSE Officer to join our team at Coleman Wires and Cables. The ideal candidate will assist the HSE Supervisor in implementing the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal safety policies within a cable manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the HSE Supervisor in assessing risks associated with tools, equipment, job sites, and work environments
• Support the HSE Supervisor in planning and executing all resource requirements for safety operations
• Develop and implement emergency preparedness procedures and serve as the first point of contact during emergency situations
• Investigate all injuries, accidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions
• Render first aid to employees and visitors in case of injury or illness
• Conduct safety-related audits and inspections to ensure compliance and identify potential hazards
• Enforce adherence to HSE policies, procedures, and statutory regulations
• Conduct HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and safety awareness training for employees and contractors
• Support the review and implementation of HSE policies and documentation
• Ensure proper waste disposal and environmental compliance within production areas
• Maintain accurate HSE records and prepare periodic reports for management
• Participate in fire drills and ensure readiness of firefighting and first-aid facilities
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to promote a strong safety culture across all departments

Qualifications & Requirements

• B.Sc. / HND in Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Safety, or a related field
• 0 - 2 years of experience in HSE functions, preferably within a cable manufacturing or industrial environment
• Good understanding of HSE regulations
