Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections and identify potential hazards
• Plan safe working practices and implement necessary changes
• Undertake risk assessments and determine ways of reducing identified risks
• Ensure equipment is installed correctly and safely
• Keep up to date and ensure compliance with current health and safety legislation
• Write and develop internal health and safety policies and strategies
• Draw up safe operational procedures
• Safely handle and manage hazardous substances
• Investigate, record, and report incidents, accidents, complaints, and cases of ill health
• Make recommendations following accidents and incidents
• Compile and analyze safety statistics
• Liaise with relevant authorities on health and safety matters
• Organize and attend health and safety meetings
• Provide health and safety training courses for employees and managers
• Make presentations to groups of employees and managers
• Write reports, bulletins, and newsletters
• Keep up to date with developments within the profession
• Perform any other assigned duties
