Head of Project at JMG

Position Summary

The Head of Projects ensures complete financial and operational control of all projects across the group, overseeing budgets, margins, billing milestones, and project cashflows. This role reports to the Group CFO to safeguard project profitability, revenue recognition, and working-capital discipline, while maintaining strong functional collaboration with the COO to validate progress and resolve operational bottlenecks.

Core Responsibilities

Project Financial Control

• Budget Ownership: Approve and monitor all project budgets with FP&A and Operations
• Project Cost Tracking: Review material, labor, logistics, and subcontractor costs against approved budgets
• Margin & Variance Analysis: Analyze project margins, BOM variances, and scope deviations
• Cashflow Forecasting: Prepare project cashflow forecasts (planned inflows vs. outflows) and share with Group Treasury
• Funding Alignment: Ensure each project is linked to a valid Group Treasury ID for tracking receipts and supplier payments

Billing & Revenue Validation

• Milestone Validation: Approve milestones for billing only after confirming operational completion and documentation
• Billing Coordination: Coordinate with Head of Billing to issue invoices based on approved milestones and funding linkage
• Revenue Compliance: Ensure revenue recognition follows IFRS 15 and group policies
• Deferred Revenue Review: Validate project advances, unearned revenue, and contract liabilities with Group Controller

Reporting & Governance

• Project Dashboard: Maintain milestone tracker (planned vs. achieved) and cost variance dashboard
• Project Performance Review: Lead monthly project review meetings with Operations, Finance, and Procurement
• CFO Reporting: Submit consolidated project summary (budget, cost, cashflow, margin) monthly
• KPI Tracking: Track DSO on project receivables and project profitability metrics
