Job Summary
The Operations role in the fintech industry is responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day running of financial and non-financial transactions, process efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction. This position involves coordinating transaction processing, reconciliations, settlements, and operational risk management, while supporting the scaling of fintech products and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily transaction processing across payments, transfers, wallets, and other fintech platforms
- Ensure accurate and timely reconciliations of customer accounts, partner accounts, and internal records
- Support settlements with banks, payment processors, and other stakeholders
- Monitor transaction flows to identify failures, delays, fraud attempts, or anomalies, and resolve issues promptly
- Work with compliance and risk teams to ensure KYC, AML, and regulatory requirements are met
- Develop, document, and improve operational processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Coordinate with technical support, product, and finance teams to resolve operational bottlenecks
- Manage and track disputes, chargebacks, reversals, and refunds within agreed timelines
- Support automation initiatives to improve process efficiency and reduce operational risks
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly operational performance and risk reports for management
- Assist in onboarding new partners, merchants, and agents while ensuring operational readiness
- Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal and external stakeholders
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
- 5–7 years of experience in operations within fintech, banking, or payment services
- Strong knowledge of payment systems, settlements, reconciliations, and digital financial products
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks
