Head of Internal Audit

About the Role

Ama-Zuma Group is seeking an experienced Head of Internal Audit to lead and manage the internal audit function. This is a strategic position responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive audit frameworks, risk assessments, and compliance programs across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct the internal controls function, including preparation of audit manuals and audit plans
• Conduct risk assessments across all departments
• Evaluate compliance with existing policies and procedures
• Identify areas of strength and weakness within operational processes
• Provide recommendations for improving the organisation's operations and efficiency
• Review responses to internal and external audit management letter queries to ensure recommendations are implemented
• Evaluate information security and associated risk exposures
• Assess regulatory compliance programs
• Evaluate the organisation's business continuity and readiness in case of business interruption
• Support the company's anti-fraud programs
• Engage in continuous education and staff development best practices
• Perform other duties as reasonably requested

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree, HND, or Master's Degree
• 15–20 years of professional work experience
• Proven experience in the Head of Internal Audit role or equivalent senior audit position
• Ability to bring innovative ideas and solutions to audit processes
• Age not exceeding 50–52 years

Preferred Experience

• Experience in the Oil & Gas industry
