Head of Finance at Payment Access System Limited (PaySys)

Job Summary

The Head of Finance oversees the financial management, reporting, planning, and control functions of the fintech organization. This role ensures financial stability, regulatory compliance, treasury efficiency, revenue optimization, and accurate financial reporting. The position plays a strategic role in budgeting, forecasting, investment decisions, and supporting the company's growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
• Provide financial insights to guide strategic business decisions
• Develop financial models to support product pricing, new business lines, and cost optimization
• Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure accuracy of financial records in compliance with IFRS and regulatory standards
• Review and sign off all management accounts, statutory filings, and reconciliations
• Manage company liquidity, cashflow planning, and treasury operations
• Oversee float management for agency banking, wallet operations, and settlement accounts
• Maintain relationships with banking partners, switches, payment processors, and investors
• Monitor revenue streams across transactions, commissions, interest income, and service charges
• Implement revenue assurance processes to eliminate leakages and inefficiencies
• Track operating expenses and drive cost optimization initiatives
• Ensure timely filing of statutory obligations (taxes, VAT, PAYE, WHT, NSITF, ITF, pension, etc.)
• Coordinate internal and external audits, addressing issues promptly
• Ensure compliance with CBN regulations, fintech licensing requirements, and financial reporting standards
• Strengthen internal controls across finance, operations, treasury, and reconciliation processes
• Monitor financial risks, fraud exposure, and transaction-based vulnerabilities
