Position Overview
Join a leading organization as Head of Financial Performance and Reconciliation. This role offers the opportunity to drive financial excellence across reconciliation, accounts management, performance analysis, and treasury operations.
Job Purpose
The Head of Financial Performance and Reconciliation leads all financial reconciliation activities, accounts management, performance reporting, and treasury operations to ensure accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial insights across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reconciliation
- Reconcile all bank accounts including nostro, suspense, bank accounts, and internal general ledgers
- Ensure prompt resolution of outstanding reconciliation items
- Maintain accuracy of the trial balance and ledger accounts
- Manage general ledger integrity and financial reconciliations
Accounts Payable, Receivables and Expense Management
- Process vendor payments and staff reimbursements
- Monitor operating expenses and ensure compliance with budget approvals
- Manage accruals and prepayments
Management Accounting and Performance Management
- Produce management reports, dashboards, and variance analyses
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis
- Monitor departmental and branch performance against KPIs
Financial Systems and Data Integrity
- Oversee accounting and banking systems (e.g., Finacle, Finedge, SAP, DYNAMICS)
- Ensure proper integration between core banking and finance systems
- Support automation and data accuracy initiatives
- Review finance processes for compliance and internal control
- Support audit readiness and remediation of finance-related audit findings
- Coordinate with Internal Audit and Compliance Departments
Treasury Operations and Funds Management
- Manage liquidity and daily cash flow
- Handle interbank placements, investments, and funding activities
- Coordinate with Treasury Department for accurate accounting entries
Required Qualifications
Education and Professional Certification
- Bachelor's degree in a numerical discipline such as Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, or Mathematics
- Professional certification: ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA
Required Skills
- High level of numeracy and analytical skills
- Deep understanding of financial reporting, reconciliation, and treasury management
- Proficiency with accounting and banking systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
