Hatchery Manager at Agricare Std Plus Ltd

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to manage hatchery operations at our facility in Lagos, Nigeria. This position is central to our production success, with key deliverables revolving around actively managing and coordinating personnel, production, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day hatchery operations to produce day-old chicks at the correct quantity and quality at the lowest cost
• Manage and coordinate all hatchery activities
• Direct supervision of employees
• Monitor facility equipment, repairs, and maintenance
• Ensure that all biosecurity standards and procedures are in place and strictly adhered to
• Manage and maintain weekly hatch schedules
• Oversee planning and scheduling of:
  • Egg plans
  • Transfers
  • Set plans
  • Hatches
  • Orders and truck loading
• Health and Safety oversight

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Sciences, Agriculture Science, or Animal Production
• Minimum 5–6 years of experience in commercial hatchery operation and management
• Good understanding of various hatchery machines (EMKA, INDIAN, VET 7, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of hatchery operations, poultry physiology, and embryology
