Position Overview

The Green House and Open Field Supervisor focuses on cultivation and management of plant life to ensure optimal growth and productivity. This role is on-site and reports to the Farm Manager, Production.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the planting, nurturing, and harvesting of vegetables, herbs, and fruits, adhering to best horticultural practices to achieve robust yields
• Regulate greenhouse conditions such as temperature, humidity, and light to create an optimal environment for diverse plant species
• Monitor plant health regularly and implement integrated pest management strategies to prevent and address infestations and diseases
• Manage the scheduling and supervision of greenhouse staff, ensuring efficient task delegation and adherence to cultivation timelines
• Ensure all greenhouse equipment and infrastructure are maintained in good working order, coordinating repairs and routine upkeep as necessary
• Maintain detailed records of planting schedules, growth progress, environmental conditions, and harvest outcomes to inform future cultivation strategies
• Collaborate with sales or marketing teams to align production with market demand, ensuring the availability of produce for sale and distribution

Required Qualifications

• SSCE/Diploma/NCE with relevant experience and background in horticulture or greenhouse management
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in horticulture management
• Strong understanding of crop management practices for vegetables, herbs, and fruits
