Geophysicist III at Nautilus Nigeria Engineering and Construction Limited

Position Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join our team. This position supports and enhances 2D/3D seismic and wellbore acquisition programs across the company. You will interface with operating groups, other technical specialists, and vendors to provide 2D/3D seismic and borehole seismic survey acquisition solutions that safely meet organizational goals and commitments. You may also serve as a Formation Evaluation Specialist.

Main Responsibilities

In addition to Level 1 and Level 2 responsibilities, Level 3 duties include:

• Post-stack and pre-stack seismic inversion and AVO analysis
• Seismic attribute analysis to define structural and depositional environment/facies
• Application of geophysics to unconventional plays
• Support 2D/3D seismic and borehole seismic survey acquisition operations
• Collaborate with technical specialists and vendors on geophysical solutions

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or Advanced degree in Geotechnical or Geophysical Engineering
• Previous experience in a closely related geophysics position
• Geology and geophysical interpretation skills
• Advanced petrophysical analysis skills in siliciclastic settings
• Strong experience with carbonate reservoirs
• Sound knowledge in seismic processing and acquisition operations
• Strong structural geology background with experience in all tectonic systems, geologic environments, and reservoir types
• Experience interpreting gravity and magnetic data

Required Skills and Competencies

• Competency in computing applications (Geology and Petrel)
• Geoscience computing skills
• Strong knowledge of petroleum geology in the local area
• Effective team player with ability to work in diverse work groups
• Strong mentoring and coaching skills
