About the Role

An established company is recruiting for a General Manager to oversee functional areas of logistics operations. You will manage operations in accordance with optimal cost efficiency and minimal downtime, while generating comprehensive management reports that track spending against budgets.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee functional areas of logistics operations to achieve cost efficiency and minimize downtime
• Manage fleet-related operational costs in line with functional budget requirements
• Monitor and limit truck downtime
• Formulate and implement regulations and strategies for logistics, transportation, and customer service
• Manage the flow of packages to ensure timely customer delivery
• Oversee inventory control, material handling, transportation, and workforce planning
• Prepare workforce schedules and ensure distribution workers follow safety protocols
• Partner with and negotiate with vendors on purchasing spare parts for trucks
• Supervise daily operations of staff within and outside the region, providing support as needed
• Improve efficiency of the company's supply chain
• Identify enhancement opportunities and suggest solutions for improvement to senior management
• Ensure timely repair of all trucks by mechanics
• Prepare and present operational performance reports to management
• Develop and improve operational plans and schedules to ensure efficient and timely operations
• Generate management reports tracking spend versus budgets

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree
• 15-20 years of work experience
• Downstream oil and gas industry experience
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent planning and stress management skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and execute tasks effectively
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
