About the Role
An established company is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee logistics operations, ensuring optimal cost efficiency, minimal downtime, and adherence to budget requirements. You will be responsible for managing fleet operations, supply chain efficiency, and a distributed workforce across multiple regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all functional areas of logistics operations in accordance with cost optimization and downtime minimization objectives
- Generate management reports tracking spend versus budgets
- Manage fleet-related operational costs within functional budget requirements
- Monitor and limit truck downtime through proactive maintenance and operational planning
- Formulate and implement regulations and strategies for logistics, transportation, and customer service
- Manage package flow control to ensure timely customer delivery
- Oversee inventory control, material handling, transportation, and workforce planning
- Prepare workforce schedules and enforce safety compliance among distribution workers
- Partner with vendors and negotiate purchasing of truck spare parts
- Supervise daily operations of staff within and outside region, providing support as needed
- Identify enhancement opportunities and recommend solutions for operational improvement
- Ensure timely repair of all trucks by mechanics
- Develop and improve operational plans and schedules to ensure efficient, timely operations
- Work to improve overall supply chain efficiency
- Prepare and present operational performance reports to management
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree
- 15–20 years of work experience
- Downstream Oil and Gas industry experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent planning and stress management skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and execute tasks effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
