## Title: General Manager, Microfinance Institution

Job Summary

We are seeking a General Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership for the overall management of our microfinance bank's business activities. You will drive growth, profitability, regulatory compliance, innovation, and customer satisfaction in alignment with our institution's mission of empowering low- and middle-income individuals and SMEs through accessible financial services.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong business acumen, a deep understanding of the microfinance sector, and proven capacity to lead teams toward achieving sustainable results.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Planning

  • Develop and implement strategic and business plans that align with the bank's long-term goals
  • Drive innovation in products and service delivery, including digital transformation initiatives
  • Analyze market trends and competitive activities to ensure the bank maintains a strong market position

Business Growth and Revenue Generation

  • Oversee business development initiatives to increase the bank's customer base, deposits, and loan portfolio
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities that support financial inclusion objectives
  • Lead the development of new financial products and digital services that meet customer needs

Financial and Operational Management

  • Ensure effective financial planning, budgeting, and performance monitoring across all departments
  • Drive operational efficiency and service excellence across branches and digital platforms
  • Ensure profitability targets are achieved while maintaining prudent cost management

Risk Management and Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with CBN, NDIC, and other regulatory bodies' requirements
  • Maintain effective internal control systems and oversee enterprise risk management frameworks
  • Supervise audits and implement corrective measures to address identified gaps

Leadership and Team Development

  • Build and mentor a high-performing leadership team
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and customer-centricity
  • Develop talent and succession plans across the organization

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of senior management experience in banking or financial services
  • Proven experience in microfinance or financial inclusion sector
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian regulatory environment and banking requirements
  • Excellent track record in business growth and profitability management
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing diverse teams
