General Manager – Courier & Logistics Operations (Nigeria) at Vodstra Limited

Our client is a major nationwide courier and logistics operator in Nigeria seeking a proven industry leader to take full operational and commercial control of the business. We are specifically targeting professionals who have already led large-scale courier or express logistics operations at the highest level in Nigeria’s logistics sector. Who This Role Is For This position is strictly for candidates who have:

• Served as Head of Operations, Regional Director, or equivalent in one of Nigeria’s leading courier, express, or logistics companies

• Managed nationwide distribution networks, sorting hubs, last-mile delivery fleets, and time-sensitive shipments

• Led large field teams across multiple cities with daily delivery volume accountability

• Operated successfully in high-pressure, service-critical, margin-sensitive environments

• End-to-end control of nationwide courier and logistics operations

• Hub efficiency, last-mile performance, route optimization, and on-time delivery metrics

• Revenue growth through operational discipline and service reliability

• Eliminating inefficiencies, revenue leakages, theft, delays, and underperformance

• Driving cost control across fleet, fuel, manpower, and infrastructure

• Leading senior management teams with clearly defined KPIs and accountability structures

• Strengthening customer retention, SLAs, and enterprise client relationships

• Managing regulators, security agencies, aviation authorities (where applicable), and strategic partners

• Executing a measurable business turnaround within defined timelines

Candidate Profile

• Prior role as Head of Operations (or equivalent senior leadership position) within a recognized courier, express, or logistics company in Nigeria

• 10–15+ years of progressive leadership experience in large-scale logistics operations

• Proven success managing multi-location distribution networks and high daily shipment volumes

• Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated P&L responsibility

• Deep understanding of Nigerian logistics infrastructure, regulatory realities, and last-mile challenges

• Data-driven, decisive, and execution-focused

• Proven experience in business turnaround, restructuring, or rapid scale-up

• Experience operating under board oversight and performance-driven reporting structures

• Willingness to travel nationwide and take full ownership of results
