Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Gender, Protection and Accountability Officer. The Officer will be responsible for leading protection monitoring and accountability processes, integrating gender and protection principles, and ensuring community voices—especially those of women, girls, and other marginalized groups—are reflected in project design, implementation, and adaptation.
Position Details
- Location: Konduga LGA
- Duration: October to December 2025 (subject to extension based on performance)
Purpose of the Assignment
The role promotes safe participation, equitable access to services, and strengthened gender-based violence (GBV) referral pathways within the community.
Key Responsibilities
Protection Monitoring and Reporting
- Conduct protection monitoring using gender-sensitive tools to assess risks for different population groups (men, women, boys, girls, persons with disabilities, etc.)
- Identify and analyse protection trends—including those related to GBV, exploitation, and harmful social norms
- Facilitate gender-segregated FGDs and interviews to understand gendered protection risks and community dynamics
- Document and escalate protection concerns in line with confidentiality and survivor-centred approaches
Community Feedback and Accountability
- Oversee inclusive Community Feedback Mechanisms (CFM) that ensure women, girls, and marginalized groups have equal access and confidence to report concerns
- Promote AAP principles through inclusive consultations, ensuring that programming reflects the views and needs of women and men equally
- Integrate feedback from diverse community groups into program design and service adaptation
Gender Equality and Inclusion
- Promote gender equality in all project activities and work closely with gender focal persons or gender-sensitive partners where applicable
- Identify and document gender-related and conflict-sensitive issues within target communities
- Propose and support the implementation of context-appropriate solutions
