A dynamic team is expanding and looking for the right talent.
Location: Borno (MMC and Jere), Adamawa (Madagali) and Yobe state (Fune).
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced GBV Officer to support the implementation of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) prevention and response activities. The role focuses on ensuring survivors have access to safe, confidential, and quality services while strengthening community-based GBV prevention mechanisms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support delivery of GBV case management and survivor-centered services
- Ensure safe, confidential, and ethical handling of GBV disclosures
- Facilitate referrals to health, MHPSS, legal, and other support services
- Conduct community awareness sessions on GBV prevention, women’s rights, and available services
- Support establishment of women- and girl-friendly safe spaces
- Monitor GBV risks and trends within communities
- Maintain accurate and confidential case documentation
- Support capacity building of community volunteers and stakeholders on GBV issues
- Ensure adherence to GBV guiding principles (safety, confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination)
- Contribute to activity tracking, reporting, and coordination meetings

- Strong understanding of GBV guiding principles and survivor-centered approach
- Knowledge of referral pathways and protection services
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Ability to handle sensitive issues with empathy and confidentiality
- Good reporting and documentation skills
- Compassionate and non-judgmental
- High integrity and respect for confidentiality
- Emotionally resilient and calm under pressure
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Gender Studies, Law, Social Sciences, or any related field
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in GBV programming or protection work
- Experience in case management and working with survivors of violence
- Experience in humanitarian or conflict-affected settings is an advantage
- Proven work experience in the implementation of disability inclusion programming
