Gateman / Messenger and Facility Maintenance Repairman

About the Role

Christian Miracle Hospital seeks a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team in a combined gatekeeping and facility maintenance role. This position is essential to maintaining a secure, safe, and well-functioning healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and record the entry and exit of patients, visitors, and staff to ensure a secure hospital environment
• Deliver medical records, laboratory samples, and documents between departments and to external partners
• Assist patients with directions and facility entry, with special attention to expectant mothers and elderly individuals
• Conduct regular patrols of the hospital perimeter and report safety hazards or suspicious activities
• Assist with the receipt and distribution of hospital supplies and mail
• Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on plumbing (leaks, blockages), electrical systems (lighting, sockets), and structural fittings
• Assist in the basic maintenance of hospital generators, water pumps, and air conditioning units
• Conduct daily facility walkthroughs to identify and address minor issues before they escalate
• Ensure all repairs meet safety and hygiene standards appropriate for a medical environment
• Assist management in supervising external contractors for major technical projects

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in general maintenance and security work
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair basic mechanical and electrical faults
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills; proficiency in Igbo is advantageous
• Physical fitness for the demands of the role
