Fleet Operations Manager at Sunrose Consulting

Job Purpose

The Fleet Operations Manager is responsible for the overall management of the company's fleet of vehicles. You will have supervisory oversight over all officers in the value chain of operations support, including Mechanics, Electricians, and Fleet Officers.

Key Responsibilities

• Draw up weekly and monthly operational planning schedules for the unit
• Ensure implementation of standard operational procedures for fleet management
• Ensure fleet availability to meet all requests by scheduling, forecasting, and surveying current user trends
• Monitor vehicle performance and costs using fleet management software
• Monitor and coordinate all activities of fleet officers
• Prepare and manage annual operations budget
• Supervise vehicle maintenance to reduce downtime due to repairs
• Ensure proper vehicle registration and documentation for all fleet vehicles
• Streamline and monitor the fuel purchase system using Fuel Cards for all vehicles and drivers
• Monitor and ensure fleet operations comply with government regulations
• Collaborate with human resources to recruit quality drivers for the fleet
• Manage drivers to prevent misconduct and reduce high maintenance costs
• Regularly monitor fleets to prevent unauthorized vehicle use

Qualifications and Experience

• B.Sc. Degree or HND
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in fleet operations management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of transport regulations, safety standards, and compliance procedures
• Demonstrated ability to create and implement operational strategies for fleet management, onboarding, and performance optimization
• Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills
• Proficiency in using technology and platforms to manage fleet and operations
