About the Role
Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF) is seeking a qualified Finance Officer to manage financial operations and serve as the dedicated financial and operations focal person for our programmes in Lagos, Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Facilitate and manage financing of procurement processes, staff remuneration, and project expenditures
- Manage all financial records and documentation for projects
- Provide regular financial status reports and ensure proper budget allocation across all line items
- Monitor spending to prevent budget overruns using available financial tools
- Develop comprehensive financial reports at the end of each project cycle and fiscal year for donor reporting
- Analyse budget burn rate and verify compliance with organizational guidelines, codes, and procedures
- Report budget situation and financial risks to senior management
Cash Management
- Maintain operational contact with banking partners
- Support operation, control, and management of bank and petty cash accounts in accordance with LPF financial policies
- Monitor and forecast periodic cash requirements
- Prepare and submit periodic financial reports and bank reconciliations
- Implement necessary corrections and keep staff informed for timely action
Budget & Financial Planning Support
- Act as Financial Desk Officer for projects and prepare financial instruments (vouchers, mandates, etc.) for payments
- Provide technical and operational assistance in financial planning processes
- Support budget planning, preparation, and implementation
- Provide technical advice during proposal writing, strategic planning, and income projection
- Review financial and compliance risks in all office transactions and flag issues requiring management action
Capacity Building & Compliance
- Promote compliance with ethical standards in the management of LPF's finances and resources
- Organize or participate in training of staff and stakeholders on financial procedures
- Support office operations as required
