About the Role
ARCO Worldwide Services Limited is seeking a dedicated Finance Officer to join our team in Lagos, Nigeria. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions
- Post journal entries and update the general ledger
- Prepare bank, cash, and account reconciliations
- Maintain petty cash and asset registers
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of all accounting records
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Assist in preparing management accounts and financial analysis
- Support budget preparation and monitor departmental budget performance
- Track expenses and revenue for various projects and operations
Payments & Cash Management
- Process vendor payments, staff reimbursements, and operational disbursements
- Review invoices and supporting documents to ensure compliance before payment
- Monitor cash flow and advise management on variances or shortfalls
- Maintain proper controls over cash and bank transactions
Compliance, Audit & Internal Controls
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and statutory regulations
- Support internal and external audit exercises
- Maintain clean, audit-ready financial files and schedules
- Strengthen internal control procedures across the finance function
Operational & Cross-Department Support
- Work closely with procurement, operations, and project teams to validate financial transactions
- Support project costing, billing, and financial documentation for client projects
- Provide timely financial information for decision-making
- Identify financial risks and highlight them to management
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in financial process improvement initiatives
- Handle special projects and tasks assigned by the Head of Finance
- Represent the finance department in cross-functional meetings where required
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
- Professional accounting qualification or relevant experience
