## Title: Finance Accountant
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated professional to join our finance team in a key accounting position.
Location
Mainland, Lagos, Nigeria
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily call-over of previous day's transactions to verify accuracy and completeness
- Supervise treasury, payments, receivables, and payables activities
- Prepare regular monthly proofs for staff advances, prepayments, and intercompany accounts
- Ensure receivable accounts are accurate and reconciled monthly with marketers
- Maintain general ledger including account opening and mapping
- Manage statutory audits by ensuring timely provision of required schedules and supporting documents
- Prepare monthly management accounts
- Prepare and present monthly performance reports to management
- Review and approve weekly and monthly bank account reconciliations, ensuring all open items are resolved promptly
- Keep fixed assets register and records up to date with depreciation entries captured before month-end
- Ensure unpaid but committed expenses are properly accrued
- Monitor and manage long-term and short-term loans and liabilities to ensure planned liquidity meets obligations
- Review bank interest, fees, and commissions to verify alignment with agreed terms
- Supervise, train, and develop finance staff through knowledge sharing
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal tax deadlines
Requirements
- BSc Degree in Accounting
- Professional qualification in Accounting (ICAN or ACCA)
- 4 years post-qualification experience as a professional accountant
- Prior experience in the manufacturing sector (advantageous)
