This position offers a great opportunity for career growth. As Farm Maintenance Lead, you will oversee the smooth running of farm operations by maintaining critical systems such as diesel generators, plumbing, boreholes, pumps, tanks, and water distribution lines.

The role ensures reliable power, steady water supply, and proper functioning of feeders, drinkers, brooders, lighting, ventilation, and cold chain storage. You will be responsible for both preventive and corrective maintenance, vendor supervision, and detailed record-keeping to minimize downtime and control costs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine preventive and corrective maintenance on farm equipment and structures
• Manage and maintain power systems including diesel generators, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and wiring
• Ensure consistent water supply through maintenance of boreholes, pumps, tanks, and distribution lines
• Oversee cold room operations, including temperature control and equipment calibration
• Liaise with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and ensure quality of work
• Keep structured maintenance logs and report on farm assets and costs

Key Performance Indicators

• Zero prolonged downtime (2+ hours) of critical systems
• 95%+ uptime of equipment and utilities
• Timely servicing of key equipment
• Limited emergency vendor callouts
• Zero water contamination and maintenance spend within budget

Requirements

• Technical training or proven hands-on experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or welding
• 3–5 years' experience in poultry, agro-processing, or FMCG facilities
• Strong multi-skill abilities in electrical work, plumbing, refrigeration, and welding
• Resourceful, practical problem solver with self-motivation
• Willingness to live on-site at the farm
